The Delphi Teen Media Program returned to the intensive six-week in-person program this summer. The program provides Philadelphia students the opportunity to create original films under the mentorship of professional filmmakers. Students learn about each phase of the filmmaking process from script to screen, including camera techniques, script writing, cinematography, directing, acting and editing.
Within the first two weeks of programming students are challenged with creating a “personal film.” The students then break into groups and take on various roles such as producer, director, writer, editor, cameraperson, etc., and work to create a longer feature film.
One highlight of the program is “The Big Pitch” where students present and try to “sell” the idea for their feature film to a panel of industry professionals. This was held in the theater of the Philadelphia Film Society. The program culminated with a celebration and screening of the films created in the program. Congratulations to these talented filmmakers!
